Veteran “60 Minutes” reporter Steve Kroft is owning up to a three-year affair he had with a New York City attorney.

“I had an extramarital affair that was a serious lapse of personal judgment and extremely hurtful to my wife and family,” the longtime CBS newsman told People magazine in a statement. “And for that I have nothing but regret.”

“My wife and I are committed to each other and are working hard to get past this, and consider it a private matter,” he added.

The National Enquirer was the first to report on the affair the 69-year-old reporter had with Lisan Goines, a married 41-year-old lawyer he met at the St. Regis hotel bar in Manhattan in 2011.

The tabloid also published racy texts between the lovers, which were excerpted by Page Six earlier this week. “Come and let me devour u,” the journalist allegedly wrote in one of the tamer texts to Goines.

Kroft — who famously pressed then-Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton on affair allegations in 1992 — has been married to journalist Jennet Conant since 1991. The pair have one son together.
